This 1970 Pontiac GTO coupe underwent a refurbishment approximately 10 years ago which included refinishing the body in orange, reupholstering the interior in black, and installing a replacement 455ci V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission. The car is equipped with 17″ five-spoke wheels, a body-color Endura front bumper, a twin-scoop hood, a hood-mounted tachometer, a rear spoiler, power steering, a serpentine belt drive system, an aluminum radiator, air conditioning, and an Alpine stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. The seller purchased the car in 2021 and has since added approximately 600 miles.
The car was refinished in orange during the refurbishment in 2018. Exterior equipment includes a twin-scoop hood, a color-keyed Endura front bumper, quad headlights, a hood-mounted tachometer, a rear wing, and quad exhaust outlets. Paint chipping on the nose is highlighted in the gallery below.
Chrome-plated 17″ Torq Thrust-style wheels are mounted with 245/45 Vredestein tires in front and 275/40 BFGoodrich tires out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The refreshed cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl, while faux woodgrain trim accents the instrument panel and center console. Amenities include a padded dashboard, an Alpine stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, GTO-embroidered floor mats, and air conditioning.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and warning lights. An auxiliary gauge pod has been mounted to the underside of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 455ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, a serpentine belt drive system, an aluminum radiator, and a chrome air cleaner and valve covers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. A custom dual exhaust system has been fitted.
