This 1966 Cadillac Eldorado convertible was acquired by the seller on BaT in January 2021, and subsequent work consisted of stripping and repainting the body. The car is finished in Ember Firemist over white leather upholstery and is powered by a 429ci V8 mated with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible soft top, fender skirts, vertical taillights, power windows, power steering and brakes, automatic climate control, Twilight Sentinel headlight control, a power front bench seat, cruise control, and a push-button AM/FM radio.
The body left the factory finished in Ember Firemist (98) and is said to have been stripped and repainted in 2021. Features include a power-operated white convertible soft top, chrome bumpers and rocker trim, a driver’s side mirror, removable rear fender skirts, stacked headlights, and a power antenna. The car is equipped with the Twilight Sentinel automatic lighting system, which allows the headlights to remain on for up to three minutes after the driver exits the vehicle.
Steel 15″ wheels wear Cadillac hubcaps and are mounted with 235/75 Hankook Optimo H724 white-stripe tires. A full-size spare and jack are mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in white leather (457) joined by a color-coordinated lower dashboard, door panels, and sun visors. Wood trim accents the doors and Cadillac-branded floor mats line the footwells. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, polished door sills, front seat headrests, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The left power vent window does not work, and the convertible top boot is difficult to install.
The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a telescoping and tilting column and frames a 120-mph speedometer along with an analog clock and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 429ci V8 was factory rated at 340 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque and features a four-barrel Carter carburetor. A fluid service was performed in preparation for sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
