This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by a fuel-injected L84 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and it was repainted in red approximately 20 years ago. The fiberglass body was originally finished in Riverside Red (923) and was repainted in 2003 according to the seller. Features include a removable hardtop and a white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, and chrome bumperettes. Paint chips are visible ahead of the left-front wheel and behind the left-rear wheel.
Silver-finished 15” steel wheels wear covers with faux knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook radial tires. The C2 Corvette came standard with independent suspension using upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in white vinyl along with red trim and carpets. Amenities include an AM/FM radio, power windows, and lap belts. Splits and tears are visible in the driver’s seat upholstery, and the seller notes the clock does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 327ci L84 V8 featured factory Rochester fuel injection, a high-lift camshaft, and a rated output of 375 horsepower when new. Additional details include a chrome ignition cover and finned valve covers.
The engine stamping includes sequence 4107682. The RX suffix corresponds with a fuel injected, 375-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Positraction differential.
